Personal Life
Gary Metcalf was born in Oviedo, FL. During his youth, this was a town of 3000 people with one stop light. The town was dominated by a family-owned citrus company, for which his father worked. His mother taught at the local high school. Oviedo is now a suburb of the Orlando area, just five miles from the University of Central Florida, one of the largest universities (by enrollment) in the US.
Metcalf married Teresa Daniel in 1990. They have two sons and two grandchildren.
