			In 2001, Bausch was selected by Aleco Christakis, then President of the International Society for the System Sciences (ISSS), to co-chair the society’s annual conference in Crete. The conference theme, “Constructing Agoras of the Global Village,” inspired the creation of a nonprofit organization dedicated to furthering participatory democracy. This collaboration led to the founding of the Institute for 21st Century Agoras the following year.

			Throughout his career, Bausch has immersed himself in challenging questions at the intersection of body, mind, and society. His scholarly output spans systems theory, collective wisdom, and embodied philosophy, consistently reflecting his commitment to understanding complex issues through multidisciplinary perspectives.
