Michael Mokiy joined the society in 2017 at the invitation of Peter Tuddenham. Currently lives in Russia. He is known for his work in the field of the theory of a systemic transdisciplinary approach and its adaptation to solving problems of socio-economic development.
Personal Life
Michael Mokiy was born in Nalchik in the North Caucasus. Russian Federation, in 1954 as the eldest of three sons in the family of Stefan and Claudia Mokiy. He is the father of one child, the daughter of Alexander Mokiy (1998). He plays the guitar, enjoys equestrian sports, music and science fiction.
Academia and career
After graduating from school, Michael Mokiy worked as a radio installer at a factory, a guide and a mountain tourism instructor from 1971 to 1975. From 1973 to 1975 he served in the Army. After serving in the army in 1976, he entered the Moscow Institute of Management. In 1981, he graduated from the Moscow Institute of Management with a degree in Automated Control Systems in Mechanical Engineering and was hired at the Department of Economics of Mechanical Engineering as an assistant. In 1987, he demanded his doctoral thesis on "Improving the structure of the equipment park in mechanical engineering" at the Moscow Institute of Management. In 2010, he defended his postdoctoral dissertation on the topic "Transdisciplinary methodology in Economic Research" at the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. In 2011, he received the academic title of professor in economics.
- From 1981 to the present - Assistant, Associate Professor, Professor at the State University of Management (SUM) Moscow, Russia. From 2011 to 2017, he headed the Department of Economic Theory at SUM.
- 1996-1998 - Head of the Department of Economic Research, Institute of Informatics AG 6300, Gartenstrasse 3, Zug, Switzerland (currently closed).
- 1993 – 2006 - Head of the Department of Economics and Management at the Moscow Academy of Economics and Law. (currently closed)
- Since 2003, he has been a professor at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. (RANEPA) and head of the educational program "Economics of Enterprises and Organizations" of the Department of National Economy.
- He worked as a consultant teacher at Gazprom, the ABB Group Training center in Russia, the Tupperware training center in Eastern Europe, Surgutneftegaz and other industrial enterprises.
- He has trained 15 masters and 8 postgraduates.
