This is a template to indicate the license type, URL, and author or authors of material that has been copied into wiki.isss.org as permitted under a compatible Creative Commons license. It is usually placed in the references section or at the end of a page where the text has been imported.

This template should not be used for content copied into wiki.isss.org that is dually licensed (for example, under both a Creative Commons license and another license such as the GFDL). Use an appropriate “dual-license” template instead.

This template should not be used when you cite a source but write the content in your own words. Do not use this template inside <ref> tags unless you are directly quoting or copying text from the source word-for-word.

This template should not be used if ShareAlike-only licensed content was copied onto wiki.isss.org with insufficient attribution in the initial edit. Use a correction or attribution-repair template instead.

Usage

To hide the authors (for example, when used inside a <ref>), use:

Parameters

• |cc= – The license type, indicated by one of the short names listed below (lowercase, no decimals or spaces)
• |url= – The URL of the source page from which the licensed material was copied
• |author= – The author or authors of the source. This is required to meet the "appropriate credit" provision of most Creative Commons licenses, which state: “If supplied, you must provide the name of the creator and attribution parties.” This field is not always required if the source does not specify individual authors, or if the source page’s edit history serves as sufficient attribution.
• |vrt=yes – Indicates that explicit permission was provided (for example, via a verified release or email confirmation)
• |from this source=yes – Indicates that the incorporated Creative Commons text comes directly from the source mentioned before this template
